Gertrude Turner Downs, age 100, of Houston, Alabama passed away November 3, 2015. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church in the Moreland Community.
Visitation is Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church-Moreland Community with service following at 2:00 p.m. in the church, Donny Gaither and Danny Page officiating. Burial in Moreland Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ruth Hill; son, Kenneth Downs; 18 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.T. and Queen Isabell Turner; husband, Woodrow Downs; son, Grady Downs; daughters, Shirley Nail and Joy N. Downs; brothers and sisters, Leonard Turner, Edith Turner, Vealer Adams, Liller Riddle, Elizabeth Allen and Wylie Turner.
