Gertie Phillips Baugus, age 84, of Knoxville, met her Jesus on Friday, April 18, 2014.
Preceded in death by father, Jeff, and mother, Maudie Phillips, husband, Claude Spencer Baugus, brothers, William, Royce and Leo Phillips, sisters, Katy Tucker and Marie Gregory, grandson, Justin Baugus, great-granddaughter, Maely Baugus.
Survived by children, Dwight Baugus, Winona (Bob) Parker, Doyle Baugus, Cheryl Snyder, Wendell (Anita) Baugus, Rebecca (Paul) Bales; grandchildren, Angie, Aaron, Ben, Spencer, Bobby, Marilyn, Travis, Meaghan, Whitney, Hannah, Seth, Katie and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Arnita, Inez, Bert, Virginia and Doris; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to U.T. Hospice and Nurse Whitney.
Visitation will be held in Weaver’s Chapel Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. with service to follow. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in Corum Cemetery in Elgin, Ala., for a 2 p.m. interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to U.T. Hospice.
