Funeral for Gerry Nell “Nubby” Dawson, 57, of Killen will be Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Courtland Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scotty Letson and Rev. Marcus Lipscomb officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Her body will be at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dawson, who died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital, was born April 14, 1958, to J.B. Cottingham and Shirley Cottingham. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. She retired from Champion Paper after 38 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Larry Dawson.
Survivors include son, Trevor Dawson; brothers, Tony Cottingham, Gary Cottingham, and Keith Cottingham; sisters, Terry Ann Chittam, G. G. Ferrell and Scarlet Montgomery; grandchild, McKenzie Dawson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Simmons, Trevor Dawson, Larry Clopton, Landon Givens, Brian Goodwin and Michael Payne.
