Gerry Monroe Hambrick Sr, age 74 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Akron, Ohio on January 19, 1948, to the late Clarence Monroe and Florence Elizabeth (Graham) Hambrick Sr. Gerry served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Caterpillar as a manager for thirty-two years before becoming the maintenance foreman at Braidwood Recreational Club for eleven years. He was currently employed at O’Rileys in Winchester. Gerry was passionate about racing, a hobby spanning from 1970-2018. He raced in Mini Stock as #6, Dirt Track as #73 and #78, Late Model with Gerry Jr as #7, go-carts with Jonathan as #28, and street stock as #28. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed cheering for #6 Mark Martin, #28 Davey Allison, and new #6 Brad Keselowski. Gerry also enjoyed restoring cars and working in the yard. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. He was a dedicated member of Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church and will be remembered for his loving and kind nature. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jerry Hambrick; infant sister, Darla Hambrick; and grandparents, Calvin and Eliza Hambrick and Hubert and Hannah Graham. Gerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-four years, Barbara Hambrick of Winchester; children, Gerry (Celeste) Hambrick Jr of Newport, Tammy (Matt) Virgilli of Braidwood, Illinois, Jennifer Hambrick of Wilmington, Illinois, and Jonathan Hambrick Sr of Winchester; grandchildren, Robert, Allyson, Jessica, Hope, Luke, Cody, Austin, and Jonathan Jr; four great-grandchildren; sister, Rita (Jim) Gullick of Winchester; brothers, Clarence (Theresa) Hambrick and Troy (Rhonda) Hambrick both of Joliet, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and four-legged best friend, Emmy. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Morgan and Rev. Charles Hughes officiating.
