Gerrie Lyman Gammon, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. Gerrie was born on August 21, 1948, in Van Nuys, California, to the late Lyman and Mary Lou Gammon.
Raised in Granada Hills, California, Gerrie was a proud graduate of Granada Hills High School. After high school, Gerrie honorably served his country by joining the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. An avid sports fan, Gerrie had a lifelong passion for his Los Angeles Dodgers and was thrilled to see his team win this years World Series.
In 1994, Gerrie relocated to Tennessee, a place he grew to love and call home. His deep affection for his parents was evident throughout his life, and he carried their memory with him always. For the past nine years, Gerrie resided at Brookdale Assisted Living in Columbia, Tennessee, where he was cared for with great kindness and compassion.
Gerrie is survived by his loving siblings, Nancy Gammon, Christine Michals, and Brad Gammon; his cherished nieces and nephews, Taylor Michals, Luke Gammon, Matthew Gammon, and Tiffany (Alan) Romine; his beloved great-nieces, Morgan Cutrona (Matthew) and Chloe Romine; and his great-great-nephew, Dean Cutrona. He is preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Natalie Wolf.
The Gammon family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ashley and the staff at Brookdale for their exceptional care and support over the years.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Gerrie’s life on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at Polk Memorial Gardens, officiated by Bro. Bob Vassar.
Gerrie’s kindness, humor, and love for life will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
