German Chavez, 73, passed away Tuesday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Socorro Chavez, and brother, Javier Chavez.

Mr. Chavez worked for Army Missile Defense as an electrical engineer in White Sands, NM. He moved to Huntsville to work for Boeing for 35 years, and eventually retired from Army Missile Defense.

German was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was a humble man who enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Chavez; daughters, Tammie Volk (Andrew), Vanessa Holcomb (Hugh), and Tanya Chavez; grandchildren, Max Holcomb, Maia Holcomb, Ethan Volk and Jack Volk; and brothers, Jaime, Eloy, Mauricio, Sergio and Elias Chavez.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 10 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with a Rosary at 6:30. There will be a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Father Tim Pfander officiating.
