Geraldine Reed Byrd, 93, of Tuscumbia passed away Friday, May 6, 2016. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Barrett Long officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Byrd was a lifelong resident of Tuscumbia and retired from TVA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia and a founding member of the Tennessee Valley Art Association. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clyde Byrd.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by her son, Robert C. Byrd, Jr. and wife, Debbie; daughter, Paula Vanderford and husband, Neal; sister, Barbara Elliott; five grandchildren, Amy Orman (David), Robert Byrd III (Jodie), Cody, Alex, and Colton Vanderford; and four great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
