Geraldine “Gerry” Sivley Wilfing – Obituary

Geraldine “Gerry” Sivley Wilfing of Prattville passed away at her home on Sept. 1, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Lawrence County to Jewel Holland Sivley and Wendell Sivley, June 5, 1937. She is survived by her loving husband, David C. Wilfing and one daughter, Jennifer Leigh Jackson of Mobile; sister, Anne Sivley Lee and brother-in-law, Benjamin R. Lee Sr. of Lawrence County; one aunt, Mary Holland Mahaffee of Decatur and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wilfing was a tennis advocate for years, and taught tennis at LBW Junior College in Andalusia.

Gerry worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 30 years, beginning her career with the Covington County, Alabama Soil and Water Conservation District. She later transferred to ASCS Division, working out of the Alabama State ASCS Office, where she retired in 1996.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service.
