Gerald Ray Trousdale, 86, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Lauderdale County, AL, and was a 1957 graduate of Coffee High School in Florence. He attended Florence State College (now the University of North Alabama) from 1957-1962, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Chemistry.
He was a proud member of the United States Navy, active and reserve, honorably discharged in 1976 with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Mr. Trousdale worked in purchasing and subcontracts for IBM, United Technologies and retired from Lockheed Martin.
He was an active member of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, May 9, 2025, at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating is Austin Johnson of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ.
Mr. Trousdale was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Bevis Trousdale; parents, L.E. “Bob” Trousdale, Dorothy Trousdale, and Louise Hill; and brother, Ron Trousdale.
He is survived by his son, Heath F. Trousdale (Cassy); daughters, Heather Trousdale Whorton (Tracy) and Dawn Trousdale Potter; sister, Brenda Tease; former wife, Geraldine McKinnon; step-son, Scottie Durham (Brittany); grandchildren, Ann Lindsay Harris (Adam), Caroline Williams (Jake), Ethan Trousdale, Cloie Trousdale, Aidan Potter, Ali Potter, Ella Durham, and Emmie Durham; and great grandchildren, Mary Evan Flory, Millie Harris, Henry Harris, and Trace Williams.
Pallbearers will be Keith Tice, Kevin Tice, Mark Chris Tice, Blair Tice, and Scottie Durham.
Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Trousdale, Aidan Potter, and Don Williams.
