Gerald H. Richardson went peacefully to the Lord on March 10, 2022.

He was born in Pinson, TN, on September 23, 1931 to the late Jim and Dena Simmons Richardson. Mr. Richardson worked for Illinois Central Railroad for 43 years. He was a member of East Union Baptist Church and lived in the East Union Community for over 40 years.

He loved and cared for all animals and supported the Madison County Humane Society.

Mr. Richardson was grateful to his community and neighbors for their care and compassion shown to him for many years. The frequent visits, occasional meals, and friendships were very special to him. He never forgot those who have shown kindness and compassion to him.

Mr. Richardson was the sole survivor of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Juanita Richardson; his son, Larry Joel Richardson; daughter, Sandra Annette Richardson; infant daughter, Paula Elaine Richardson; and his beloved cat, Maxi.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Dena Richardson; three brothers, Paul James Richardson, Harbert Quentin Richardson, and Herman Guy Richardson.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 pm at Big Springs Cemetery in Pinson.

In lieu of flowers, it was Mr. Richardson’s request that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Madison County Humane Society.
