Gerald D. Wiekamp, 89, of Hampton Cove, Alabama, passed away on May 20, 2018, following a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Kratz Wiekamp, and older brothers Lester and Darwin Wiekamp. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie McDaniel Wiekamp. Jerry was born in Mishawaka, Indiana. Drafted into the army in 1950, he served in Korea until 1952. He received a degree in Education from Indiana University and a Masters Degree in School Administration from San Diego University. After teaching in Oxford, Michigan, he moved to San Diego, California, in 1957 and taught in Chula Vista. He worked as a guidance counselor in the Sweetwater High School District in Chula Vista for 19 years. He then served as a principal at a Christian school in Chula Vista until 1994, when he retired. Jerry and Bonnie moved to the Huntsville, Alabama, area in 2005.
