George Wiley “Bud” Posey, Sr., age 86 of Cordova, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Sardis Cemetery on the Old Tuscaloosa Road. Pearl Shelton and Wanda Robinson will officiate.
Mr. Posey was preceded in death by his Father-Rufus Posey; Mother-Minnie Lou Sherer Posey; Brothers-Coveller Posey, Frank Posey and William Posey; Sisters-Alice Posey Johnson, Nell Posey Jones and Mary Posey Hill Boshell; Infant Granddaughter-Paula Thomas; Infant Grandson-Carl David Posey.
He is survived by his Wife-Mertie Louise Posey of Cordova; Daughter-Rosemary Posey Peterson of Gulf Breeze, FL; Sons-George Wiley Posey, Jr. of Townley, Carl Steven Posey of Townley, Michael Norman Posey of Townley and Ricky Allen Posey of Carbon Hill; Sister-Aurilla Tubbs of Morris; 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nick Powell, Chris Kendrick, Dylan Moore, Daniel Moore, Andrew Ingle and Greg Honeycutt.
