George W. “Billy” Hicks age 72 of Cordova, passed away Wednesday July 27, 2016 at his residence.
He was a U.S. Army veteran; he was a retired coal miner from Jim Walter Mines #7 in Brookwood; he was a member of the UMWA.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Rick Bradley, Randall Stephens and Rev. Bruce LeVan will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday from 12:30-2 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Reddie Hicks and his brothers, Ross and Jimmy Hicks.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Regina Hicks; daughter, Casie Bridges and husband Michael; grandchildren, Lauren Spates (Jared), Micah Bridges, and Savannah, Tristan and Gabriel McCrary; brother, Tommy Hicks (Leacy) and sister-in-law, Patsy Hicks.
