tomFuneral service for George Thomas “Tom” Bennich age 81 of Hartselle will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church Hartselle with Rev. Jack Bailey and Bobby Joe Smith officiating with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will be at the Church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Bennich, who died on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born on April 20, 1935 in Decatur, Alabama to George Owen Bennich and Mary Lou Mayfield Bennich. He was the Owner of B & G OK Tires in Hartselle, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartselle where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Wheelchair Ramp Builders Team. He was member of the Morgan South Camp of the Gideons International, the Hartselle Civitans, Morgan Baptist Disaster Relief Team, Meals on Wheels and Terrell Industries. He loved Missions and went on numerous Mission Trips both in the States and Abroad serving with the following organizations, The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Alabama Disaster Relief, Morgan Baptist Relief, North Carolina Baptist Association and the Builders for Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Bennich, daughter Debra Anne Bennich and a son Darrell Brian Bennich.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years

Barry Pearson, Mike Childers, Steve McKee, Stacy Adams, Joe David Bailey, Charles Sanford, Charles Quinn and Joe Howell will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the Morgan Baptist Disaster Relief Team, First Baptist Ramp Builders and members of the Morgan South Gideons Camp will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers make Memorial Contributions to the Gideons International, Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, Morgan Baptist Disaster Relief or to your favorite Charity.
