Mr. George Junior Sherrill, 65, departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Rehabilitation Center in Florence, Alabama. He was born Sept. 7, 1951, in Wayne County, Tennessee the son of the late Georgia Sevier and Gladys Geneva Patterson Sherrill. He was united in marriage to Jeanith Ellen Stults on June 18, 1982.
Mr. Sherrill was retired from Murray Ohio and was a member of the Christian Faith Church in Florence, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanith Ellen Stults Sherrill, of Lutts, Tennessee; sons, Rusty Sherrill, of Nasvhille, Tennessee, and Shane Sherrill, of Florence, Alabama; daughter, Laporsha Sherrill, of St. Joe, Tennessee; grandchildren, Mackenzie Simbeck, Trent Simbeck, and Hayden Sherrill; and sisters, Carolyn Boston and Sue Whitehead, both of Florence, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sherrill was preceded in death by sister, Melba Horton.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Christian Faith Church in Florence, Alabama with Dennis Hanvey and Jerry Balentine officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Faith Cemetery, Florence, Alabama, with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be today, 9 a.m. until service time, at the church.
