George E. Harvey, 86, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Hospice Family Cares in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mr. Harvey was born March 9, 1932 in Decatur, Alabama to John and Louise Harvey. He was a member of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from NASA after numerous years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Harvey; one son, George E. Harvey, Jr. of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Allison Harvey both of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Patsy Howard (Frank) of Decatur, Alabama.
Visitation will be Monday, January 14, 2019 from noon until 1 p.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, followed by a funeral mass at 1 p.m. with Father Wyman Vintson, and Deacon Rick Chenault officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity in memory of Mr. Harvey.
