Funeral service for George Crawford, 71, of Somerville will be today, March 8, 2014, at noon at New Canaan Baptist Church with Reverend Shane Wheeler and Brother Robert Cruise officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon at the church.
Mr. Crawford died on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his residence. He was born February 8, 1943, in Marshall County to Edward Crawford and Zenobia Clark Crawford. He was a former employee of the Morgan County school system. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Crawford; son, Clay Crawford(Phyllis) of Somerville; grandchildren, Hannah Crawford and Andrea Benson (Cole); and great-grandchild, Eli Benson.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to New Canaan Baptist Church, 2204 Union Hill Road, Somerville, AL 35670.
