Mr. George Albert Pipes, 73, of Hazel Green, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Patrick Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
George was a member of Ben Hur Shrine in Austin, Texas, a member of Cahaba Shrine in Huntsville, Alabama, and a member of Hill City Masonic Lodge in Austin, Texas. He served for many years as a hospital board member for Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Houston, Texas and Greenville, South Carolina.
George is survived by his wife, Regina Grider Pipes; daughter, Georgina Pipes Nelson (Patrick); son, Timothy Alan Pipes; grandchildren, Nathan Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Arabella Nelson, Kaitlyn Nelson, and Harley Pipes; father, Albert Pipes; sisters, Diane Steffy (Robert), Cindy Green (James), and Beth Massey (John); several nieces and nephews; and in laws, Gayle Maliskey, Michael Grider (Glenda), Rita Woosley, and Vickie Myers (Spike).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Pipes.
