George A. Moreillon, 62, passed away peacefully at home in Monrovia, AL after a four year battle with cancer. Born in Madison, IN, he grew up in the country and joined the Army in 1973. He served honorably on a sniper team, in the infantry and as a machinist, retiring in 1993. He loved serving his country and was a dedicated soldier.
Upon retirement, he and his wife, Mary, settled in the Monrovia area to be close to family. He worked as a machinist and spent time helping others until his cancer struck. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating. He will be remembered for his love of computers, his ability to fix anything, and his willingness to do so for anyone needing help. He received great joy from his five grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary L. Moore Moreillon, three sons, Tod Rynders (Denise), Tom Rynders (Kim), Eric Rynders (Angelique) and five grandchildren, Zachary Rynders, Brian Rynders, Mary-Kate Rynders, Rosie Rynders and Vada Rynders. He is also survived by five sisters living in the Madison, IN and Bedford, KY area. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Moreillon and Lucy Florence Brandon and one brother and one sister.
There will be a “Celebration of Life Service” in late January to coincide with his birthday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, 3601 CCI Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805 or to a charity of your choice.
