Lieutenant Colonel (R) George A. Ingleright, 78, passed away on Friday in Huntsville. He was born on August 13, 1939 in Birmingham to the late George Andrew Ingleright and Cortense Adams Ingleright.
George was employed by the 23rd Circuit of Alabama, the District Court of Madison County for 9 years. While working in the court system and at Suma Technology he volunteered with the Madison County Sheriffs Reserves where he retired as a Captain after 23 years. He was also a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club of Huntsville for 12 years. Prior to that George served more than 25 years as an officer in the United States Army retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1987. During his military career he served in Germany, Vietnam and Korea. Among the medals awarded to LTC. Ingleright during his military service were the Legion of Merit with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Bronze Star Medal with V Device and two Oak Leaf Clusters.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Price Ingleright; daughters, Debbie Ingleright Bagby (John), Beth Ingleright Cannon (Chris) and son, Buddy Ingleright (Traci); grandchildren, John Thomas Leiner, Daniel Leiner (Haley), Elizabeth Leiner Savage (Mack), Andrew Cannon, Cassie Cannon and Jacob Cannon.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 5-7pm at Laughlin Funeral Home and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 5th at 11:00 am at Laughlin with a Graveside Service at 2:00 pm at Greenview Memorial Park in Florence.
