Geneva Nix Martin, age 85 of Adamsville, Alabama went to be with the Lord at Brookwood Medical Center on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Geneva retired from the Jefferson County School System as Lunch Room Manager of Hillview School and Bottenfield Jr. High School. She was a faithful member of Forestdale Free Will Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Nix and Rausie Moore Nix; siblings, Winnie Mae Farley, Minnie Hadder, Linnie Dell Stafford, Lester Nix, Easter Henslee, and Elaine Nix.
She leaves behind her husband of sixty-six years, William Lloyd Martin; daughter, Abigail Neal (Larry); sons, Bill Martin (Sue), Jim Martin (Sylvia); grandchildren, Christy Taylor (Richard), Missy Gurley (P.J.), Alicia Gunter (Greg), Steven Martin (Serena), Amanda Hagy, and Rachel Atwood; eleven great grandchildren, sisters, Beatrice Bell Jones, and Flora Jane Head.
Services will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at Forestdale Free Will Baptist Church, 2615 Veterans Memorial Dr. Birmingham, Alabama 35214. The service will be at 11:00 AM with viewing to be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at New Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Nauvoo, Alabama.
