Geneva Murleen Hosea – Obituary

GENEVA MURLEEN HOSEA

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 23, 1922 the daughter of the late John Edgar and Mary Jessie Smith Porter.

Ms. Hosea retired after 34 years from Brown Shoe Company where she worked in the reinforcement department. She was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church and was active in the Senior Citizens Center in Savannah. Ms. Hosea loved playing dominoes at the Senior Citizens Center and she won the Championship in 2009. She also enjoyed writing poems about her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Hosea departed this life on November 28, 2012 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 90 years and 5 days.

She is survived by her children, Deretha Wilbanks and her husband Bob, Bonnie Blanton and her husband Kerry, Juan Hosea and his wife Shelia and Ricky Hosea, all of Savannah, Tennessee

8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Franks, two sisters, Mildred Hughes and Helen Porter and two brothers, Vernon and Hubert Porter.
