Geneva J. Crittenden – Obituary

Geneva J. Crittenden, age 95, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2015. Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Service will be today at 1 p.m. in the Colbert Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in the Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Geneva was a member of VFW Ladies Auxillary. She faithfully attended Abbie Baptist Church for many years. Geneva was a caregiver and received her nursing training through the government sponsored National Youth Alliance program during World War II. She worked in nursing at Kelly Nursing Home and Shoals Hospital. She retired from Shoals Hospital after many years of loyal service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Crittenden, and brothers, Howard, Bud, Bit, Bill, J.D., Elmer and Carl Johnson.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Ray and his wife, Lenda, Crittenden, of Leighton, Alabama; grandchildren, Bill and Gena Crittenden; and great-grandchildren, Bailey Crittenden and Megan Dennis, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister, Annie Lee Duggar, of Tuscumbia, Alabama; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Moore, Johnathan and Derrick Underwood, Jerry Johnson, Neil Johnson, Henry, Will and Marc Gotcher.
