Genette Payne Barrett, 80, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born in Belmont to Den and Gertrude Payne. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was an employee of Blue Bell for 40 years and also Mid-South Drapery.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at New Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Weems and Bro. James Segars officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Belmont, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters-Jackie Moody (W.D.) and Sheila Sparks (Rick) all of Belmont; five grandchildren-Tiffany Wigginton (Shone), Tamara Sparks (Kyle), Tyson Dill, Curt Sparks and Nick Sparks; five great grandchildren-Morgan Huggins, Cole Wigginton, Gabby Wigginton, Bristol Sparks and Bentlee Sparks; two brothers-Bob Payne (Mary) and Billy Joe Payne (Doris) all of Belmont; one sister-Eloise Parker (Elbert) of Vina.
She was preceded in death by her husband-Braxton Barrett; her parents; and five sisters-Lenette McDonald, Gladys Sparks, Lorene Credille, Jewel Pardue and Evelyn Sparks.
Pallbearers will be Dicky Sparks, Bill McDonald, Shane McDonald, Ted Sparks, Mark Chumbley and Eric McDonald.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at New Bethel Baptist Church.
