Genette Chilcoat Johnson Genette Chilcoat Johnson, 91, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the North Mississippi Hospice Unit in Tupelo. She was born July 28, 1932, in Fulton, to Wiley Clifford and Alice Senter Chilcoat. She was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. She worked at Charm Step, Glenn Manufacturing, and Denton Mills, and was a home maker. She enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers, and she especially enjoyed riding her John Deere and mowing her yard.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Minister Derrick Maranto and Minister Haston Handley officiating. Bobby Cleveland will lead the congregational hymns. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Steve Johnson (Terri) of Fulton; one daughter, Leisa Howell (Vaughn) of Hatley; one grandson, Seth Johnson (Catherine); three granddaughters, Nicole Johnson Steele (Steven), Callie Howell Northington (Levi), and Caroline Howell Boock (Wes); six great-grandchildren, Camron Cowart, Ally Grace Steele, Anna Claire Steele, Darby Northington, Landry Northington, and Wells Boock; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Faye Chilcoat; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Johnson; two brothers, Buford and John Kelly Chilcoat; four sisters, Vola Hamm, Lucy Skeen, Trudye Montgomery, and Gertie Knight; an infant grandson, Lance Tyler Howell; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Seth Johnson, Steven Steele, Levi Northington, Wes Boock, Terry McCarthy, and Carl Gaddy.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the special staff of NMMC Hospice Floor-Tupelo for the excellent care they gave their mother and to the family during this difficult time the past 30 days. They were truly a blessing to the family.
