Genetta Renee Steien, age 57, of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away August 21, 2026, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. She was born March 31, 1969, to L.C. and Sonya Postell. Genetta was a joyful, tender-hearted, and kind woman who had a great sense of humor. She was God-fearing and loved church. Genetta loved everyone and enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies, and, especially, “Little House on the Prairie.” Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Thornhill Cemetery in Haleyville. Genetta is survived by sons, William Kaleb (Janie) Steien and Jonathan Darrel Steien; grandkids, Kenzlee Kois, Everleigh Steien, and Bentley Steien; sisters, Sharron (George) Shirey, Lynn (Bart) Hyde, Diane Nesbitt, Karen Bonner, and Sandra Doss; brother, Franklin L. Postell; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by father, William “LC” Postell; mother, Sonya Postell; and stepmother, DeWanda Postell.
