Generations: Basic Genealogy Class offered at Florence-Lauderdale Public Library

youFLORENCE-Would you like to learn more about your family history but don’t know where to start?   generations: Basic Genealogy Class will be held on June 15, from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library.  This basic genealogy class is geared towards people who have done little or no genealogical research. The class will cover tips on getting started in genealogy research and will teach you how to use a wide variety of important records, such as census, vital, probate, land, and military records. There will be periodic breaks, as well as an hour and twenty minute break for lunch. Lunch may be purchased at Bookmarks Coffee Shop, located in the library.

This class will be taught by Lee Freeman (head of the library’s Local History/Genealogy Department), Kitty Cox (library volunteer and President of the Natchez Trace Genealogical Society), and Brian Newton (Vice President of the Natchez Trace Genealogical Society).
