Gene Yarbrough, age 85 of Haleyville, Al passed away May 11, 2015. Gene served in the Army National Guard 107th Trucking Company during the Korean War, retired with 31 years service with the Guard, belong to the V.F.W, member of the Masonic Lodge 464, retired after 35 years as a Engineer from ICG Rail Road and a member of Littleville Methodist Church.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10:30 – 11:00 A.M. at Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville with service following at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel, with Bro. Scott Ward and Bro. Greg Reynolds officiating, with burial in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Doris June Ellenburg Yarbrough; children, Alice Beth Yarbrough Romo, her husband Oscar and Barry Kent Yarbrough, his wife Lageita; sister, Gail Herren; brother, Toby Yarbrough; grandchildren, Shelley Perkins, Mandy Swann, Jessica Cooper, Carlos Romo and Jonathan Yarbrough; great grandchildren, Paige Perkins, Cy Swann, Allie Swann, Carter Swann, Madison Ann Cooper, Anna Grace Cooper, Parker Reid Hyde, Tucker Gene Romo, Dylan Yarbrough, Hayden Yarbrough and Ciara Yarbrough; great great grandchild, Aubrie Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Alice Yarbrough; sisters, Marie Wright and Mary Frank “Hank” Chilcoat; brother, Denzil Yarbrough
