Gene “Rudy” Rudolph Mabrey, age 84, formerly of Hartselle, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016. He was born in Sumner County, Tennessee on May 2, 1932, and was known by all as “Mr. Rudy” or “The Chief” at work. Rudy worked for Aramark (previously known as Industrial Uniform Service) for over 30 years. He loved Indian history, hunting for arrowheads, and gardening. He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Mabrey; mother, Alva Francis Keene; brother, Maxie Mabrey; and sister, Dolores Dortch.
Rudy is survived by sons, Tim (Barbara) Mabrey of Hartselle and Phillip (Regina) Mabrey of Falkville; sister, Martha Sue Petite of Michigan; granddaughters, Leslie (Barry) Putman, Ashley (George) Addison, Melanie (Ben) Eubanks, and Sara Jane Mabrey; and great-grandchildren, Ty Putman, Ella Grace Putman, Kaitlin Koebel, Autumn Addison, Bella Eubanks, Bree Eubanks, Briggs Eubanks, and one on the way. Special thanks for the love and care provided by Gail and her staff at Gail’s Boarding House in Decherd, Covenant Manor Staff in Fayetteville and Wanda with Avalon Hospice in Tullahoma.
