Gene Hutto Dale, 86, of Florence, passed away July 27, 2015 after a brief illness. Mr. Dale was a native of Pinson, Alabama and had lived in Central Heights for many years. He was an active member of Central Heights Baptist Church, served in the United States Marines in the Korean War, and worked as a land surveyor most of his life.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with military funeral honors. Officiating will be Brother Roger Houston.
Mr. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Dale; parents, Fred and Zuma Dale; sisters, Lucille Spearmen, Cecilia Beason; brother, John Dale.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Dale of Florence, Merle Dale and wife Genee of Muscle Shoals; sister, Lois Dorsett of Trussville, AL; grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah Dale of Florence, Cameron and Caroline Dale of Muscle Shoals; a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
