Services for Gene Elba Lankford, 88, of Mount Olive will be Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale 35071. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. immediately preceding the service.
Mr. Lankford passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, in Birmingham. He was born July 25, 1928. He was preceded in death by wife, Earline Lankford; son, Jim Lankford and grandson, Mark Lankford.
He is survived by son, David Lankford (Jo-Ellen); grandchildren, Matthew and Anne Lankford and great-grandchildren Piper and Ethan Lankford, all of St. Louis.
Mr. Lankford attended first and second grades in Hartselle before moving to Birmingham. He was employed for 42 years by ACIPCO in Birmingham.
