Gene “Bill” Rickard, age 79, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016. Visitation will be Monday, March 14, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will be Tuesday, March 15, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Mike Westfall officiating. Burial will be in Florence City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Durrell Taylor, Xavier Johnson, Josh Riley, Justin Riley, BJ Anderson, and Brandon Anderson; Honorary Pallbearers are Jamie Anderson, Bubba Anderson, and Joseph Taylor.
Bill’s hobby was being a musician.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Annie Ora and Ed Rickard, daughters, Mickey Ellen Murphy, Delila Jean Rickard, and Karen Sue Rickard, sister, Joyce Sue Rickard, brothers, Melvin and Bob Rickard.
Survivors are his wife, Cricket Rickard; children, Cheri Riley (Don), Missy McMurtrey, Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Anderson, and Clyde Anderson Jr.; brother, Don Rickard (Paula); sister-in-law, Edith Nance; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
