Gaston Norris, 87, of Jasper, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 31, 2021.
Gaston was born September 23, 1934, in Jasper, AL, the first of five children to Andrew Mitchell and Marie Lee Norris. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years and was a Korean War veteran. He married Dawna Lee Musser, of Carrollton, MO, in 1956. Gaston worked at Sears and owned Curry Appliance and Hardware for many years, and was handy with repairs and service. He was a faithful leader at Lamon Chapel United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed cheering on the Auburn Tigers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dwight and Jay Norris and Theresea Snelgrove; and brother-in-law, Joe Sloop.
Gaston is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dawna; three children, Jill (J.W.) Odom, Mitch (Kim) Norris, and Phillip (Cindy) Norris; seven grandchildren, Josh Norris, Haley (Michael) Rodgers, Leah Beth (Thad) Gunter, Jenniffer Bodie, Wes Odom, Hunter Norris, and Max Norris; five great-grandchildren, Rynn, Rivers, Shawn, Owen, and Lilith; one brother, Jerry (Linda) Norris; sisters-in-law, Carol and Mary Evelyn Norris, and Glenda Sloop; brother-in-law, Kenneth Snelgrove; and a host of extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Lamon Chapel United Methodist Church in Jasper, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Bro. Richard Saylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Bennett Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Josh Norris, Michael Rodgers, Thad Gunter, Wes Odom, Hunter Norris, and Jimmy Norris. Honorary pallbearer is Max Norris.
