Gary Wade Franks – Obituary

gary-franks-1477488280Gary Wade Franks departed this life on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the age of 66 years and 29 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 26, 1950 the son of the late Granville and Polly Stricklin Franks. On November 13, 1972 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Smith, who preceded him in death on August 22, 1993.

Gary had lived in Hardin County his entire life and had worked for the Hardin County Board of Education in maintenance and as a bus driver for 26 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Forest Ridge Union Church. Gary enjoyed hunting and carpentry.

He is survived by his children, Daniel Franks of Savannah, Tennessee, Rebecca Sanders and husband, Will Tom of Stantonville, Tennessee, Adam Franks and wife, Codie of Savannah, Tennessee, and Brandie Franks of Savannah, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; brothers, Maynard Franks and David Franks both of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Peggy Stacks, Jeannie Cox, Penny Williams, and Robin Rippie all of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandchild.
