Mr. Chaney, who died Monday, September 7, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born February 24, 1962, in Alabama to Milton Clear Chaney and Frances Joyce Harris Chaney. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother,Jimmy Chaney; and two sisters, Suzanne Chaney and Mary Asherbranner (Jimmy).
He is survived by his loving wife, Jalena (McLemore) Chaney; son, Jacob Chaney (Laura); daughter, Stephanie Patterson (Adam); two sisters, Janie Waldrop and Nancy Sartin (Brian); five grandchildren, Addison Chaney, Jodie Chaney, Sawyer Chaney, Ginny Patterson, and Jesse Patterson; and a host of nephews, nieces, and extended family..
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
