Gary F. Blackmon, 79 of Bagley, passed away Sunday April 5, 26 at Baptist Princeton Medical Center.
Gary was a retired Coal miner from Jim Walter Resources Mine #7 after 25 years of work. He was a member of the UMWA. Two of the things he most enjoyed were traveling and camping.
Funeral services will be Thursday April 9, 26 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Bro. Buddy Sparkman will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 1-2 pm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ules “Jim” and Bertha Blackmon; his stepmother, Mary Blackmon; brothers, Kenneth and Don Blackmon, and his sister, Sue Frost.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie G. Blackmon; stepchildren, Steve Greathouse and wife Melissa, and Susan G. Blackmon and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Brandon Blackmon (Jamie), Whitney Entrekin (Josh), Seth Greathouse and Laura Mortensen (Joshua); eight great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; several other family members and many friends.
