Gary E. Stallings, 70, died on September 9, 2024, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lemuel “Bill” and Margaret Ann Stallings, and father-in-law, M. C. Jones.

Gary is survived by his wife, Meg Stallings; son, Philip Stallings; daughter, Rachel Stallings; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Stallings; brother, Doug (Deborah) Stallings; sisters, Sheri (Glenn) Williams and Susan Ogden; in-laws, Maurine Jones, Sandra (Thomas) Reese, Nancy (Terry) Powers, Kent (Marsha) Jones, and Steve (Melissa) Jones; nieces, Michelle, Kristina, Whitney, Jordan, and Christa; nephews, David, Justin, and Jason; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Gary was born in Durham, NC. He was known for his kindness, humor, and love for God. After being ordained in the ministry, he began River of Life Church where he dedicated his life to serving God through preaching and the gift of music. Gary served in ministry for over 40 years. He could play multiple instruments but was exceptionally gifted at the piano! He traveled with his siblings performing and preaching in churches across NC and VA. He was a wonderful husband who deeply loved his wife. He was a family man who loved his children and his brother and sisters.

Gary and his wife eventually moved to Alabama where he started a successful piano tuning and repair business servicing Alabama and Tennessee regions. He joined Fayetteville Church of God, in Fayetteville, TN as their music pastor and served faithfully for many years. He so loved his church family, dearly!

A memorial service is scheduled to celebrate Gary’s life, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Fayetteville Church of God, 17 Monks Road, Fayetteville, TN, with Pastor Ron Wood officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fayetteville Church of God, 17 Monks Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
