Gary Duncan Shawley, 73, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away at Huntsville Hospital on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Mr. Shawley lived around the Ardmore area for a majority of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He and his wife of 39 years, Linda Fay Shawley, were members of the Elkton Baptist Church. Gary enjoyed the work he did for the church and was a proud member of the Elkton Baptist Church Building and Grounds Committee as well as a United States Army veteran where he served with the 75th Field Artillery Brigade.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Shawley and Beulah Dysart, wife, Linda Fay Shawley, sister, Fae Reihart, brothers; Allen Morningstar, Dale “Skip” Morningstar, and David “Mike” Shawley.
He is survived by three sons; Jason (Becky) Shawley, Paul (Kelly) Coble, and Gregory Shawley, one sister, Mary Shawley Williams, as well as eight grandchildren; Hayden, Olivia, Lorelei, Gunnar, Tucker, Alleigh, Camellia, and Justus.
A visitation will be held for Mr. Shawley at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM. A Chapel service is scheduled to follow immediately after visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Mr. Shawley is to be laid to rest at Gatlin Cemetery.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
