Gary Donald “Don” Coutta, age 83, passed away on Sunday , March 7, 2021. He
was born in Winchester , TN on June 28, 1937. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Hosma and Mary Coutta, his grandparents,
Peter and Dovie Coutta, and brother Butch Coutta. He is survived by his loving
wife of 61 years, Joann, and five children, daughter Laura Fessenden of Antioch;
sons Ron Coutta of Nolensville; Jody (Shirley) Coutta of Smyrna; Ramsey (Jenny)
Coutta of Seminary , MS and Jay (Stephanie) Coutta of Monroe; sisters Patricia
Mercier of Winchester and Catherine Medley of Martinsville, V A; and seven
grandchildren, Elizabeth Coutta, Micah Coutta, Brooks Coutta, Brynn Coutta,
Jonathan Coutta, Elijah Coutta and Bailee Coutta. His cousins include Angeline
Shasteen Hill and husband Bob, Jeannie Coutta, Johnny Coutta, Glenda Sadler ,
Becky Jacobs, and Timmy Coutta. Don was a lifelong resident of Franklin County
having graduated from Franklin County High School and Tennessee Tech
University . He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed the outdoors,
especially hunting and fishing. He worked for over 40 years as a mechanical
engineer at Arnold Engineering Development Center . He was a member at the
Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on
Thursday, March 11 at Mount Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
