A visitation for Mr. Gary Dee Blackwood will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Peck Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Gary Dee Blackwood passed away Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born August 3, 1949, to James Arlin and Mary Cleo Tanner Blackwood in Morgan County, AL.
Gary was a 1967 graduate of Cotaco High School and worked 30+ years at 3M in Decatur, AL. He lived in the Rock Creek Community of Morgan County. He loved the Lord, his family and many friends. After retirement, he loved to garden and share with his neighbors, friends and family. He was the best husband, daddy, and Pawpaw. We will surely miss him, but know he is in a better place.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda Collins Blackwood; sons, Kenneth Dale Blackwood (Theresa), Patrick Shane Blackwood and Britney Sharp; grandchildren, Hunter Dale Blackwood, Holly Marshall Blackwood, Kody Sterling, Brayden Yarbrough; sister, Loretta Blackwood Patton and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
