Gary Brian Cooper, 49 of Hazel Green, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Leigh Cooper; daughters, Carley and McKenzie Cooper; mother and step-father, Jean (Charlie) Eichenlaub; father, Jerry Cooper; sister, Barbara (Chris) Saunders; niece, Emma Sanders; brother-in-law, Clark (Kristal) Cook; and nephews, Parker and Brock Cook; along with countless family and friends.
He is preceded by his mother-in-law, Barbara Faye Cook.
Gary was a loving and devoted husband of 26 years, and a wonderful father to two beautiful girls. He was a longtime employee of USDA Wildlife Services and served all of North Alabama. He always had the best stories to tell, from his early rodeo days to all of his work adventures. Gary knew no stranger. Everyone who knew him, adored him. Leon Coffee described him as, “a Chris LeDoux cowboy born a generation too late.”. Others simply describe him as a country boy MacGyver, but overall, everyone called him a friend.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, from 3:00-4:00p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A service will follow with Eddie Clardy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Crisis Services of North Alabama and/or The KT Team.
