Gary Arnold Dean, 71, of Woodville, Texas passed away Saturday, September 23 in Beaumont, Texas. He was born Friday, December 28, 1951 in Scottsboro, Alabama to his parents Arnold Dean and Emma Latham Dean.
Gary spent his early years in Scottsboro, Alabama where he graduated from Scottsboro High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Military, where he was a decorated Marine in the Vietnam Era conflicts. He proudly served his country for 6 years before his discharge as a Sergeant. With years of service under his belt, Gary pursued a career in the oil and gas industry. specifically in the refinery operations. Gary worked as a Chemical Process Operator for Atlantic Richfield and Lyondell in Houston, Texas for 22 Years and served as a union representative during that time. He was a strong and generous man who loved the Lord; he will be greatly missed.
Gary is survived by his son, Shannon Dean and wife Cher of Jersey City, New Jersey; brothers, Michael Dean and wife Kathy of Section, Alabama, Kevin Dean of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, Gaylen Dean and wife Nina of Skyline, Alabama; sisters, Pat Carter of Hazel Green, Alabama, Brenda Carter of Scottsboro, Alabama, Teresa Gilliland and husband Gary of Gracey, Kentucky; He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Emma Dean; brothers-in-law, Roger Carter and Jerry Carter; and sister-in-law, Shelly Dean
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10 am at the Skyline Cemetery in Skyline, Alabama.
