Funeral service for Garnett Drake Mills , age 84 , of Decatur, will be Thursday, December 14 , 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Dickenson officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Mills , who died Sunday, December 10 , 2017, at Hospice Family Care Facility of Huntsville, was born, February 24, 1933 in Rogers, Kentucky to Douglas Irvine Hobbs and Mary Francis Carroll Hobbs. She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Mills was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church and former member Ninth Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mills was the owner of Garnett’s Wicker Shop on Spring Avenue and she was known to all as the “Wicker Lady”.
She is survived by her husband Keith Mills; three daughters Donna Marie Drake, Mary Lou Drake Lofty (Kevin) and Elizabeth Ann Drake Dickenson (Danny); six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers Andy Clark, Josh Murcks, Drake Davis, Anthony Murcks, Danny Dickenson and Robert Morgan.
