Gail Ultz Drahota, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Indiana after a brave battle with renal disease. Mrs. Drahota was born December 18, 1953 in Michigan to Joe Russell and Thelma Kunkel Russell.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Drahota will be Friday, February 21, 2014 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00PM. Visitation will be prior to the memorial service from 1:00 until 2:00PM at the funeral home. There will be a private burial at Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Drahota retired from the City of Athens in 2011 after a long career in the Public Works Department.
She and her husband relocated to Valparaiso, IN in 2013 to start a new adventure. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Drahota of Indiana; daughters, Jamie Ultz of Athens and Sara Ultz Watson and her husband Ron of Decatur; brother, Ronnie Russell and his wife Sherry of South Carolina; 4 nephews and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Russell.
