Funeral service for Gail Sandra Cagle, 78, will be Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Brown and Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cagle passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born August 31, 1947, in Tennessee, to Elmer Bates and Thelma Blonde Howard Bates.
She was employed by Kmart, in the Customer Service Department, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed attending church and being a member of the VFW and traveling. Gail made a huge impact on her family, whom she loved very much, especially her grandchildren. She was always helping others and was a very giving person, assisting with events for the Shriners, the police department and other entities.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jerry Wayne Cagle; her parents; and a brother, Gary Battles.
Survivors include:
her Sons – Heath Wayne Cagle (Stephanie), and
Gregory Neal Cagle,
Sister – Deborah Scott,
Two Grandchildren – Chase Alexander Barrett and
Brayden Matthew Cagle.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
