Gail-Baker-1463404095Funeral services for Mrs. Gail Middleton Baker, age 81, are scheduled for 11 AM, Thursday, May 19, 2016, at New Hope Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Baker passed away late Sunday at her home in the Shady Hill community. She was born January 23, 1935, in Henderson County to the late F. Walker Middleton and Eathel Wallace Middleton. She lived in the home where she grew up, and enjoyed working in her yard and garden. Her life revolved around the Shady Hill Community, though she was well traveled. She was very active in New Hope Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper with her husband, Tommy, at the Gulf Oil Distributors in Lexington. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas L. Baker. Survivors include: her son, David Lee Baker (Michelle) of Haymarket, VA; her three daughters, Cindy Hatch (Jimmy) of Wildersville, Melanie Pergiel (Chris) of Indiana Dunes, IN; and Angie Nichols (Michael) of Burns, TN; her sister, Jean Threadgill of Lexington. She has 8 grandchildren: Jennifer Hatch, Lucas Walker and Jackson Eli Pergiel, Adam and Sarah Nichols, Drew, Grant, and Michaela Baker. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 5-9 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington and on Thursday, 9-11 AM at New Hope Methodist Church.
