GADSDEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Gadsden has taken the life of one person:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. Thursday, October 2, has claimed the life of a Gadsden woman.
Elizabeth B. Barnes, 21, was critically injured when the 2017 Lexus NX she was driving struck the rear of the 1998 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Joseph D. McFall, 41, of Ohatchee. Barnes was transported to Riverview Medical Center in Gadsden where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on U.S. 411 near the 223 mile marker, approximately four miles north of Gadsden, in Etowah County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
