Gadsden Man Dies After Crashing Motorcycle Into Guardrail

ETOWAH COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:11 p.m. Friday, October 6, has claimed the life of a Gadsden man.

Michael A. Ridens, 61, was fatally injured when the 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating left the roadway, striking a guardrail and then a tree. Ridens was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred on U.S. 278 near the 120 mile marker, approximately seven miles west of Attalla, in Etowah County.

 Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
