GADSDEN- A Gadsden man was arrested on child pornography charges according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin. Here is what the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office has to say about the arrest:
“A Gadsden man was arrested Thursday, May 21, and charged in connection with sexual abuse and pornography with minors, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Thomas Aaron Craig, 30, is charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of production of pornography with minors, all are felonies,” investigator Seth Williamson said.
Craig allegedly sexually abused a 9-year-old female over a period of two years. The case against the suspect came about after the victim saw a presentation at her school about what to do if you were being physically or sexually battered. She came forward and told her teacher she had been sexually abused. The teacher then notified a Sheriff’s Office investigator and Etowah County DHR.
Investigators received consent from Craig to conduct a forensic evaluation on his cellular phone, where more than 35 pornographic photos were found.
Craig is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $150,000 cash bond.
