Funeral service for Lee Esther (Akins) Smith, age 79, of Decatur (formerly of Brooks County, GA), will be Friday, June 3, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith, who died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital, was born February 1, 1937 in Brooks County, GA to William Aaron Akins and Jewell Esther Morrell Akins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavelle Nelson Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Lee Keen and Jay Keen; and four daughters, Caresse Pridgeon, Lisa Shores, Wanda McKinion, and Ann Williams.
